Developed by BGP Global Services, AiCES (Ai Court Evidence System) is a groundbreaking, fully voice-activated courtroom system designed to address some of the most pressing challenges facing the UK justice system. By combining advanced artificial intelligence with practical, real-world courtroom functionality, it automates both evidence handling and real-time digital transcription. This removes the need for dedicated operators and significantly streamlines proceedings. Future iterations will incorporate built-in foreign language interpretation, further enhancing accessibility and efficiency.

Initial testing indicates that by automating evidence presentation and transcription, AiCES can significantly reduce the time spent on digital evidence and associated courtroom costs by up to 25%.

The result is a faster, more efficient and cost-effective justice system, delivering substantial savings across the criminal courts. It also improves the experience for judges, lawyers and witnesses, while most importantly enabling quicker access to justice for victims.

The ethical use of AI within court systems is currently being researched and evaluated by Brunel University. In addition, Brunel will conduct a series of mock trials to assess the effectiveness and reliability of AiCES, providing independent validation of its potential to deliver both time and cost savings.
