Stewart Kingston

Stewart is a highly accomplished investigator with extensive experience across both the public and private sectors. His commitment, tenacity and attention to detail underpin a strong track record of delivering results.

A former Senior Investigating Officer with the Metropolitan Police Service, Stewart led and managed complex investigations into homicide and serious and organised crime. He also played a key role in cold case reviews, training programmes and policy development.

Stewart later joined the Serious Fraud Office, where he was responsible for major investigations into bribery and corruption. His work included high-profile cases within the global pharmaceutical sector, and he was instrumental in securing the UK’s first Deferred Prosecution Agreement against a major bank.

He also served as Deputy SIO and specialist fraud consultant to the Turks and Caicos Islands Government, leading investigations into high-level corruption.

Since joining BGP, Stewart has led a wide range of complex investigations on behalf of clients. Notably, he was responsible for obtaining and presenting evidence in a multi-jurisdictional fraud case involving a prominent business figure. Following a three-month trial at the Central Criminal Court, the defendant was convicted, sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment, and ordered to repay $20 million. This case represents one of the most significant and successful private prosecutions brought in the UK.
