VRU invests in DIVERT
London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has announced new investment in a number of programmes for the capital’s youth workers. One of these is the DIVERT programme operating within police custody suites.
Wilf Pickles, Director of BGP Global Services and a trustee of the New Era Foundation says, ‘we are delighted that the DIVERT custody intervention programme has been funded for another year in London. The programme also running in Thames Valley and Lancashire demonstrates the value of early intervention with young adults to prevent re-offending and making safer communities. I would like to thank all the partners who have contributed to the success of the programme and BGP will continue with its support of DIVERT.’
