Personal safety and awareness training

We have recently conducted a training session aimed at raising the awareness of teenagers as to their personal safety and protection.

This initial course which was presented to a group of 16 and 17 year old female pupils and covered a range of topics including:

  • Safety awareness when travelling alone
  • How to avoid and respond to incidents
  • ‘Don’t be a victim’
  • Gap year travel
  • Stranger awareness
  • Unwanted attention
  • Social media awareness

The session also covered potentially delicate topics including assault within the extended home environment as well as inappropriate behaviour.

The course was well received with the teacher commenting that “the girls…all left more aware of their personal safety than before”.

This was the first of what we hope will be many similar courses aimed at ensuring that children of all ages are totally aware of their personal safety and are able to respond to any incidents positively and with confidence.

Should you wish any more information on this course or any others that you feel may be of benefit, please contact Wilf Pickles or any of the team at BGP.
